Male Andropause, or Andropause, is to men what Andropause is to women. Most of us know that women experience a decline in hormone levels somewhere in their middle ages. Today, male Andropause is no longer considered a joke. It is recognized as occurring in millions of men between the ages of 40 and 55, and has increased the sales of drugs such as Viagra and Lexitor. Men have a very different experience at midlife than women. Common symptoms sneak up on the man and he often experiences a decrease in ambition, sexual drive, and a host of other minor symptoms. It is sometimes referred to as "burnout," a term that doesn't help solve the problem.
Men may notice their muscles shrinking, their energy waning, maybe their self-confidence crumbles a little and virility can also suffer. Even though knowledge of Andropause is more prevalent, it doesn't mean men want to talk about it.
Other symptoms include:
Anxiety (feeling panicky)
Decline in feeling of general well being (general state of health, subjective feeling)
Decrease in beard growth
Decrease in muscular strength (feeling of weakness)
Decrease in sexual desire/libido (lacking pleasure in sex, lacking desire for sexual intercourse)
Decrease in the number of morning erections
Depressive Mood (feeling down, sad, on the verge of tears, lack of drive, mood swings, feeling nothing is of any use)
Excessive sweating (unexpected/sudden episodes of sweating, hot flushes independent of strain)
Feeling burnt out, having hit rock-bottom Feeling that you have passed your peak
Impotence and your DHEA
